Anselm Kiefer’s solo exhibition “Woodcuts” at the Museo di Capodimonte is part of a continuous activity and events devoted to the protagonists and happenings of International Contemporary Art. The title of the exhibition “depicts” Kiefer’s technique – the oldest German carving tradition using carved wood for engravings, perfected by Albert Dürer. The woodcut’s technique is already recurring in many works of the artist, and it allows him to intervene with the inserting of natural textural elements.
