Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, celebrated internationally for their large-scale projects and ambitious installations, invited viewers to lose themselves in the maze of an imaginary town, composed of eight large constructions: “The Strange City” at Grand Palais, “a fantastic space born of a collective imagination, and to think and reflect about art, about culture, about the daily life and about our present and our future.”

L'artista
Ilya and Emilia Kabakov are Ukraine-born, American-based artists that collaborate on environments which fuse elements of the everyday with those of the conceptual. While their work is deeply rooted in the Soviet social and cultural context in which the Kabakovs came of age, their work still attains a universal significance.
