“Anacronismo” (Anachronism) consists of sheets of mirrored glass placed on top of small piles of sand, which capture and reflect the frescoes on the walls around them; thus, an unprecedented interaction between the observer's position in the space and the visual stimuli that surround him or her is born. The title is meant to suggest a kind of temporal short-circuit, the same one created when the viewer exposes himself with his gaze - here and now - to an image from the distant past.
“Anacronismo” marks the artist's return to Spoleto, more than fifty years after his participation in the Premio Spoleto (1966) and the historic exhibition Eleven Italian Artists of the Sixties (1967), curated by Giovanni Carandente at Palazzo Ancaiani.
