Oakville Galleries presents Between Heaven and Earth by Ilya & Emilia Kabakov across both of its venues, featuring paintings, prints, and installations that also extend into the gardens. The central work is The Ship of Tolerance, an 18-meter-long ship with sails made from paintings by over 2,000 local children, displayed for a year at Gairloch Gardens in its Canadian debut. Alongside the ship runs the Sunset Kino Festival, Canada’s only outdoor avant-garde cinema, dedicated this year to the theme WHAT WAS THAT. The entire project explores themes of inclusivity, cultural dialogue, and shared visions of the future, and is presented in collaboration with the National Gallery of Canada.
