Lia Rumma Gallery presents for the first time in Italy the works of Thomas Ruff, leading german artist, who works with large colored photography. Born in the Black Forest in 1958, Thomas Ruff studied at the academy of Bernd and Hill Becher. His rigorous, monumental-sized portraits have caused quite a stir. After exhibitions in important german and american galleries, a number of prestigious museums such as the Kunsthalle in Zurich, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the National Centre for Contemporary Art in Grenoble have dedicated large solo shows to Thomas Ruff in recent years. Lia Rumma will present his already famous portraits and a new cycle of "starry skies".
The exhibition will open on Thursday February 7 at 7 pm at Lia Rumma, Via Vannella Gaetani 12, 80121 Naples. Gallery opening hours: from 4pm to 6pm, Sunday and Monday closed.
